Rosie Perez

 Rosie Perez, born Rosa Maria Perez, September 6 1964, is an American dancer and choreographer. Her breakthrough came with her portrayal of Tina in the film Do the Right Thing (1989), followed by White Men Can't Jump (1992). Perez's performance on Fearless (1993), won her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado(2000) and Pineapple Express(8), and Birds of Prey(2020) are among her most prominent films.





 Perez has received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another Emmy nomination for her role in The Flight Attendant (2020-present). She has been in stage plays on Broadway such as The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Fish in the Dark. She was also the co-host of The View's 18th season on ABC's talk show The View.





 Childhood and early life



 Perez was born in Brooklyn's Bushwick on the 6th of September 1964, to Lydia Perez, a merchant maritime seaman and Ismael Serano. [3][4][5The girl's name was Lydia Fontanez. Lydia Fontanez and her husband, Reyes, was her mother. She was born on October 13th, 1939 in Humacao. Her father came from Aguadilla (Puerto Rico). Arturo Perez, her mother's husband, was twenty years older than Rosie. After having an affair with Serrano her mother had already five children. Perez was born in the now closed Greenpoint Hospital, Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn.





 Perez is one tenth of her 10 children. Rosie as well as her siblings were raised in Bushwick, while their mother was held for indefinite periods. While in prison, the mother of her child gave birth to her first daughter. After being taken care of by her aunt, she ended up in foster care and group homes. The siblings of her were often divided. She was put in a foster home for children and was in foster care in New York until she reached age eight. From the age of twelve, she was legaly considered an ward in New York. Aunts and her mother often visited her, while her father even made a failed custody bid at one point.
