Chelsea Joy Handler was born on February 25 1975 at Livingston, New Jersey. Handler was the youngest of children from a family of six. Handler was the daughter of a car salesman and a housewife. Her mother immigrated to the United States in 1958, after emigrating from Germany. After 10 years of combating breast cancer, Handler passed away in the year 1989. Handler's father was Jewish, and she was raised within Reform Judaism. Handler was raised in a wonderful area with a great family. In her early twenties Handler moved into Los Angeles in order to explore acting. To support her family, Handler began to work as an actor. Handler began performing stand-up as a full-time comedian when she turned 21. She realized she has a knack for storytelling. Handler's career started as an actress on an all-female cast for the Oxygen channel's reality-TV series Girls behaving poorly. The show was an amalgamation of cameras hidden in the background and humorous comedy. From 2002 until 2005, the series aired. Handler began appearing on other shows like Weekends at D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler was hired as a correspondent on The Tonight Show as a correspondent. Handler made her breakthrough in 2006 when she took over hosting of E! named The Chelsea Handler Show. The show ran for 2 seasons. In the following year, Handler performed on the Comedy Central's Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour in the United States. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend (and HBO) have been able to broadcast live stand-up shows. The show was announced to host the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in the year 2010.
