Milena Govich

 

Milena Govich (Serbian born on the 29th of October, 1976) is an American actress who is a director, performer as well as a dancer who is best known for her character NYPD Detective Nina Cassady on the television show Law & Order.



 



 Education and early childhood



 Govich was born Norman, Cleveland County in Oklahoma. The late Dr. Bruce Michael Govich (who died in 1998) and Dr. Marilyn Green Govich [2are both professors of music. Marilyn teaches voice at University of Central Oklahoma, while Bruce worked at University of Oklahoma. Her father is Serbian and her mother is of Scottish and English ancestry. Her aunt, Milica Govich, is also an actress and has been on Broadway TV, on Broadway, and in film.



 



 Milena was named valedictorian in Norman High School's class of 1995. She followed her academic family and graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma, once again graduating valedictorian with the double degree of performance as well as medical pre-medical studies. She also received a minor in dance and violin. Govich after graduation, made the move to New York City in pursuit of acting opportunities.
